Ok I made a thread about this once, but either it didn't go through or it disappeared.

I downloaded the personal left side avatar and the uber messaging. Then I got the 1.4.5 update but didn't remove any of the patches I got, since I was worried about this and had a problem with my music, I did a system full system erase. This left my phone with just the 1.4.5. I then noticed that some of the patches must have been part of the 1.4.5 update. I still have the left side personal avatar square on the messaging screen but I have no idea how to get a picture downloaded or uploaded etc... there. Please help.

I did find one thread that talked of rooting the phone??? and using code but how do you do this?

open messaging then tap top left drop down menu and tap on set avatar then when photo menu pops up you choose the avartar you have saved to the usb drive or at the bottom if you loaded the animated avatar patch you tap on the right side on the bottom button and you can set an animated avatar.
