On my Mac, the little java downloader applet crashes every time. On the Windows side, it loads but I can't get the "next" button to appear in the webosdoctor. What gives?

Or if someone could just point me in the direction of the direct download for AT&T 142.142, webos1.4.5, that'd be great too?

Okay I found a way to get to it, since it fully downloaded and is cached. I can get to it through Java preferences in the utilities folder. Now let's see if it can run....

try putting the phone into "forced" usb mode:
    1. pull the battery
    2. hold the volume up button
    3. plug in USB
    4. power on (should get a USB logo on the screen)
    5. replace battery
