    What will be **REALLY** interesting to see is how the Pre 2 gets advertised in relation to this, and then what will be even more interesting is to see how it performs.

    Well, if you call Verizon, they have maintained all along that it's a software issue in WebOS...not one VZ can fix. Surely, if that were the case, and since VZ will be the Pre 2's first home in the US, then HP/Palm would have addressed it. If VZ were blowing smoke on that (like I suspect they were) then GPS would have to remain blocked on the Pre 2, otherwise they'd really have egg on their face.

    Mark it: aGPS doesn't work unless you have VZN. VZW is smart enough this time around to not advertise it the "wrong" way this time.

    even with VZ Navigator, aGPS does not work, unless VZ Navigator is open and running. aGPS is what Verizon does not permit for other apps to have access to.

    To be more specific, one generally needs to launch VZ Navigator's splash screen to wake the GPS for other apps; once it's awoken, those apps can continue to use it without VZ Navigator being open. After the other apps are closed, though, the GPS can go back to sleep and require a re-waking. That's what GPS Fix automates. {Jonathan}
