    Hi there,

I got my new Palm Pre Plus the other day (unlocked from O2 in the UK) running 1.4.5

Ive tried to do a full erase but when I click full erase (and then full areas again in the popup), I get a notification in the lower left corner saying "erasing..." which disappears after a few seconds. The screen then greys/dims but the erase doesn't take place. I end up closing the card and keep trying again - no luck

Anyone else having this problem? How do I do a proper full erase?

    Thanx...

you can always doctor it. since it's new you aren't loosing much information.

Was considering that. Assuming that only works on Windows? Only have my Mac with me at the moment... will try get to a PC in the next few days and try that out...

I don't really want to type it all all out again. This SHOULD fix you if it happened after you unlocked your device.

It's simple and quick. You do have to run an .exe keygen to create a passkey from your phones serial number however.
If you are unable to because of OS X and would like, I can generate it for you with wine. Id be more then happy to. Just went through the same thing. Been searching for hours trying to figure it out.
Just PM me so your serial number isn't out there for the word to see.
You should be fine running it in wine or any other progs for running windows programs on OS X tho.

The Doctor will run on a Mac. It's only WebOS QI that has problems on some older Macs that don't have the newest version of Flash.

On Sprint phones we would press ##786# tap reset, then enter MSL lock code(easily obtain from your carrier) and phone resets to factory default. Do you have that option on your phone?

NOt sure if this helps: i had a similar problem - I wanted to do a FULL erase and the option would just say "erasing..." and nothing would happen. WOrse yet I doctored the phone to fix and got "memory full" errrors when installing apps. Still the same thing when doing a Full erase in Device Info. I think this is a glitch in 1.4.5

Solution was to plug phone into my windows PC, USB mode (I could get USB mode to show up, so had to do the volume button hold while inserting battery trick (search elsewhere)). Once hooked up via USB, I "formatted" (not quick format, but I suppose that would work too) the USB drive in windows (right click drive and format). That destroyed everything...then I doctored once more and it is has been fine since.

Wierd, we've had this particular issue with 2 pre's (sprint) out of 4. Very time consuming fix.

Does this work also if you have a locked phone and get passed the password?
I recently locked myself out of my phone after an unfortunate typo error and my usual password was goofed. It was stuck in lock mode, so I had to do a partial erase, but many patches and my theme are still visible. I'm doctoring now, but I was wondering if there are other ways around a locked phone?

EDIT: No other way around a locked phone
