My original palm was having problems (keyboard, speakerphone blew, etc.) So I got a refurb from the Sprint insurance company. The phone seems good, though after signing into my google and palm profiles, it only grabbed 9 contacts from the palm profile, and all my email addresses from Gmail...

I had at least 100 palm profile contacts and it was set to backup every day.

I still have my old phone, how can I transfer all my contacts from my unactivated phone?

    Is it possible?

    Thanks!

You can usually start up old phones without having to actually be in a service area. You will need to manually enter all of your contacts from your old phone to your Pre though.

You can't access them in your old phone, once you have logged the profile into a new one on the Pre or Pixi.

This has been an issue for some people, however, our board member Hardbeatz works for Palm and has been able to help some people, or you can call Palm to see if they can access your profile and fix the problem.

I think the OP is talking about an "old phone" and not the previous webOS device.

If the OP Is indeed talking about a previous webOS device, then there is not much that can be done.

Both my old phone and refurb phone are Palm Pre's, if thats what your asking.

I assume they were contact stored in your Palm profile, sounds like it might be a problem with your profile backup. I would try contacting Palm and see if they can get them from an older version of your profile backup.

This is what I assumed, since you said it was a refurb.

I really hope Palm will be able to help with this.

K, i got hold of a "specialist." She seemed pretty knowledgeable about the subject. She told me to reset options, then erase apps and data, while she used her "tool" that brought back an earlier version (or something along those lines).

It worked, and everything is back to normal.

I asked her when we will be able to transfer our palm profile contacts to gmail/google, and she said this subject is "escalated very high at the moment" and will probably be an option on the next update...

SO I guess we will see!
