Without oc I was able to open 27 apps before I got the too many cards error. 1.4.5 is amazing. Well for that anyway. Tell me how many cards you can get open on 1.4.5.
"Glen honey, I got a question for you. What do you do for a living?
"I got a question for you. Why are you still here?"

I have noticed that cards can open and actually load quickly in the background (and refresh), especially noticed this while loading ESPN web site last night while bringing a new browser into focus. Haven't done too much crazy card opening since total cards is based more on the content of the open cards. I can say I did notice an ease of opening more cards after 1.4.5 than before but no attempt to just open **** amount of cards.

That's awesome...but I'm not removing UberK to test.

When my Pre Plus was still at the stock Kernal I was able to open 20 cards without the TMC error. Actually I only got one TMC error on the stock Pre Plus, and then I restarted and it worked fine again. Besides that I don't think I've ever got TMC error. I'm still on 1.4.1.1. Now I have my Pre Plus overclocked with the 1GHz Uberkernel.

    Exactly.
    It's not "how many cards".
    It's what type of cards.

I wonder how many a droid can open? Hehe.

I got almost 9 cards open.... Now you see why I overclock. If I open any pdk games, I might get up to five.

Opened 2 PDK games (Settlers and Glyder 2). I use to get it trying to open anything with Glyder 2 running (and sometimes while nothing else was opening).

I have the uberkernal (not beta) and I opened JStop and ran a garbage collect after they had loaded. After the GC the menus were back to a normal speed.
I'm a man, but I can change, if I have to, I guess.

Well, if you must know, my wife's EVO has anywhere between 20 and 40 apps that run in the background and Android 2.1 handles them flawlessly all the while conserving battery life, and a TMC error? What the heck is that on Android? Is Android perfect? Heck no, and I would never claim that it is anywhere near close to that, nor would I claim my Pre is perfect.

The better question is why in the world would anyone open 20, 30 or more cards? That is just stupid. It is like saying "My Pre has more computing power than the computers that ran on the Apollo missions that navigated to the moon and back." What's the point?

Don't get me wrong, I love being able to have a couple browser windows, Facebook, and twitter open at the same time. But 20?
