Just remove your theme (if you have one installed) and overclocking kernels other than Uberkernel.

    Regards,
    Adam

PS - I forgot to remove my theme (Black-out for 1.4), and nothing horrible happened. All I did was uninstall/reinstall it after the download completed and now it works fine.

There are some patches that may need to be removed as well as they aren't AUPT compliant, there is a thread on this....

Soooooo anyone with verizon wireless receive this update?? Not showing on mine....
    Pre Plus

A VZW employee told me it'd be on its way, but couldn't tell me a specific date *so that it doesn't all of a sudden become a hot topic*. When it comes, I'm sure PreCentral will write about it.

In short: It comes when it comes. Just be more patient.

for what its worth, the vzw pre plus support page is down...it says "null" everywhere.

does that mean an update is imminent???

however their pixi plus support page works just fine.

    damn vzw

Just for grins ... Saw this thread, hit the update icon whence the whole update took about fifteen minutes with no troubles. Durham NC.

Just updated in MA. Everything went smoothly. When I finished that I updated the ~30 patches I had (just normal Preware stuff, not even uberkernal) and that took several minutes, but went flawlessly. Everything appears to be working fine.

If feels slightly faster, but it always feels a little faster after a re-boot, so who knows. The photo app is defininitely quicker, though.

If I may inquire, what carrier might your pre/pixi be on? I'm expecting "Sprint" for an answer because it's the most legit one for a US carrier carrying the Pre with the 1.4.5 update at this point.
  12. #472
Was that addressed to me? Yes, Sprint.
  13. #473
Well, I just got the update.
    Anything special about this update.
I mean, what exactly will this update improve on the Pre

I hear the Pre runs faster now. Some security issues have also been fixed.
Edit: Here is Palm's webOS changelog for Sprint.

Fixed the ability to download podcasts (big issue for MANY of us)..... allows for the installation of PDK apps.... and the best part of the update.....

We are one update closer to 2.0
  16. #476
    Thanks for the changelog!

Oh, I use a Pre, not a Pixi, by the way.
  17. #477
That's why I said in my post "Pre/pixi". I didn't know which of the two you had. :P But then again, this IS the internet. Big place, ya know?

South Florida, got it tonight. Seems to work great. Carrier is Sprint.
