I thought the google maps did turn by turn? so far I have only found a summary inside the apps.. Am I missing a setting on my pre+ or does the phone not do turn by turn? I'm getting a gps soon so its no biggie, but it would be nice..

Google maps for the Pre and Pre plus does not have turn by turn directions. Your best bet right now is to use VZ navigator which is included in the price of Sprint "everything" contracts, but has an extra cost for Verizon and AT&T.

VZ Navigator = VZW (cost $10/month)
Sprint Navigation = Sprint (included with monthly service)
    AT&T NavigatorSM = AT&T (cost $10/month)

Navit 3D - Application for turn by turn nav, packaged by the fine folks at webOS Internals. Needs webOS 1.4.5 to work.

The cost above is another reason I will never switch to ATT - pay $10 a month and then go over your data usage and pay another $xxxx a month to use it if you travel and use this program.

    Ridiculous

BFGMaps http://www.precentral.net/app-gallery/beta/bfgmaps available from the Beta App Catalog has Google “Turn by Turn” directions and it also has Google “Street View”.
It loads quickly and gives me all the features missing from Google Maps.

Note: If you are on Verizon - GPSFix http://www.precentral.net/app-galler...atalog/gps-fix Is a must!

Not that I have any love for AT&T but I think the data used by NavigatorSM is included with the $10/month charge.

I was assuming that the OP was looking for Turn-By-Turn Navigation not Turn-By-Turn instructions. Sorry if I was misled OP.

The stock Google Map app will give you Turn-By-Turn instructions just not Turn-By-Turn Navigation. However like not-yet-pre said BFGMaps is a better alternative to the stock Google Map application.
especially given how must faster it is at everything.

concur BFGMaps is a must download. Get it while in BETA . . . you won't regret having it in the inventory.
