I won this used palm pre on ebay, and I was reeally happy, until I realised that wont all the Palm profile data be gone and I wont be able to use the phone?

I know how to unlock it, but the unlock isnt possible unless I can get the palm profile is it?

    Thanks a lot

So What you're saying is, it doesn't give you the option to sign into your palm profile.

So if you previously had a palm, all of that will be saved. I had about a six month gap between my Palm and PIXI. All of the data was there and reloaded onto the PIXI just fine.

Is there an issue with the new phone?
Loving my Pixi. Yes I am a guy and own a Pixi, get over it.

What Im saying is I don't know whether it'll let me sign in though? I haven't received the phone, but will on Wednesday. But I'm wondering before I confirm that I want it whether I'll be able to either make a new palm account or what.

Because I've heard of some people buying reset palms and not being able to get past the palm profile screen

*edit* And all I will have is a new o2 sim card and the Pre, no other details

That's usually because of a bad ESN, meaning the previous owner didn't pay or something like that.

all you have to do is do a partial reset and when phone comes back on it will ask you to sign into your profile . you then sign into your profile and everything is restored

if you want a new profile you have to set up an email account assigned to you and then do the partial reset and when it asks you to sign in you just use an email thats never been used for a palm profile.

also if your starting from scratch you should probalbly go ahead and do a full reset and then start from scratch . a partial reset will let you sign into and make a new profile but anything that was left on the usb part of the phone from the previous owner will still be there , where as the full reset will reset the phone to factory and delete anything that did not come on the phone out of the box.

The previous owner did a full reset for me. So what will I have to do when I get it presuming it asks for a palm profile? It's an o2 one not AT&T.

Im not sure you get what im saying.. Why would unlocking the phone get me a Palm Profile?

I dont mind being on o2 Pay as you go, but aparrently when you do a factory reset (Like the seller of this pre has) whether it forces you to create a new palm profile. If this IS the case, how do I go about doing it?

Thanks a lot for baring with me

just do a partial reset to like i said in my first post in order to create a new profile , but if you dont have a data plan already it wont let you create a palm profile. this is what is being stated.

i just said that in my post pretty much ?! i did just say that he needed to have a data plan already in place in order to create a profile . right ?
