    Good for you,
again from the manual of the chip (page 24):
    Code:
    Batteries are typically considered worn-out
when the full capacity reaches 80% of the rated capacity
I've got an replacement from palm for my 3/4 year old pre (50% capacity left).

I'm suspecting that my 2300mAh is a scam, I really did see an increase in battery life above my original Palm one, but I just checked it, calibrated, and got an amazing 57% of capacity (that could account for the "double" time I felt I was getting with my "super" battery)...
I feel raped. I'll try to see what's going on with that stupid battery... I should had been getting almost 4 times my "original" capacity! :@

Thanks for this research. My capacity is down to 700. I did think the battery was particularly bad lately. Time to buy a new one I guess!

yep. my 1350 is really 1150. and my 2600 turns out to be 2300.

i'm not really sure I understand this topic, but:

My 1350 battery reported 1150. My 2600 battery reports 2300.

Does this mean that Siedio has mislabeled the batteries and essentially ripped me off?

These batteries are about 6 months old, btw.

Totally depends which values you are quoting - is it getfull40 that reports 1150 and 2300 respectively? Because if that's the case then yes, sounds like you've been had (in my non-professional opinion).

If you're quoting your getcapacity value then no - after 6 months I'd expect some degradation. I don't think you've been ripped off in this case.

    So which is it

I suspect workerb33 is reporting getfull40 values. It's highly unlikely his getage percentages multiply out with getfull40 to give exactly 1150 and 2300, respectively.

That, and Seidio's efforts to sell some batteries with undercapacity being documented here, point in the direction of "ripped off".

    yep, getfull40 is 2300.000

    getcapacity is 656.431

    getage is 99.21875

Well I think I can say that I probably have the worst battery here: I get an age of 50.000 and a getfull40 of 1183.125 giving me a 591.5625 which puts me at approximately 50%. It is my original battery that came with the phone that I got last November. Any one got any suggestions, less than 10 months and the battery is this bad. Any recommedations on the best battery to buy, I'm looking to get an "extended" battery but really don't want the thicker ones just one of the "original size" with more capacity. Thanks for any help.

My battery's been fine, was 92% healthy after about 10 months. My wife's battery was giving her problems, so I traded her for the day. Her battery getage says 82%. All the numbers are ok except the battery is getting close to worn out, which is really her complaint.

Now, when I traded her batteries, I shutdown both phones to do the battery swap, just to be safe. When I shut them both down, I think her's was somewhere in to 10% range. WHen it booted back up, I was surprised to find that the battery reported 0%, warned me that the phone will shutdown soon, but I was more surprised that it did not shutdown before I got to the Touch Stone. I thought I dodged a bullet.

Now I'm sitting here at school far away from a charger (forgot my USB to mini cable at the office.) and my battery jumps from the 10% range to 0% and warns me that the phone will shutdown soon. I accepted my fate, and sent a few texts to end a conversation, and to tell the wife I'll be unreachable till I get home. Now, some 15 minutes later, the phone is still on. So here I am, posting this question, and I've even had enough time to run the script:
    Code:
    cd /sys/device/w1*/32*;
    for file in *; do echo $file; cat $file; done > /media/internal/file.txt
Which should capture anything you'd be interested in. Here's the result (I'm missing STDERR, so no errors on directories)
    Code:
    bus
    driver
    dumpreg

So I'm asking what's the deal with my phone's battery? What should I do about it?
By the way, It's been 30 minutes since I sent the text to my wife that my battery is dead....

    *edit*

I should also note that I am running the most recent UberKernel, and overclocking at 1Ghz.

    *edit2*

Phone finally shut down 45 minutes after jumping to 0%. I'm happy it didn't implode...

Wow...my Mugen 1400 just went from 18% to 0%. I had DrBattery open and was going to wait to re-calibrate. Luckily I made it to the touchstone in time, got it calibrating now.

I don't think I ever let it get below 20% before so I was a bit surprised to see it drop that quickly.

Question....since there is now an official Dr. Battery support thread, should this thread be locked?

It might be confusing to some to have 2 separate threads about the same thing. Just a thought...

    somline,

Don't restart java in the post install script of the service! It knocked out the network connection so Preware couldn't download the app itself.

I'll have to wait till tomorrow and QuickInstall it now since it's not showing in Preware.

Good idea. I have now clue how to close a thread?

You can PM one of the mods and they can do it.

This is not a good idea. This thread is about battery health and al that. The Dr. Battery thread is about Dr. Battery. They are two differnet things.

Not really. The threads are redundant. This thread served it's purpose before the Dr Battery app was created. You'll find the same things being talked about in both threads.

Of course, it's up to somline to decide.
