I was outside by my pool, I covered it with clothes so it wasn't in the direct sunlight, and when I came back, this is how it looked! It looks cracked, but it's not. It's almost like it just bubbled... it still works perfectly fine and everything, but it's not the most attractive.

I'm with Bell, and I still have the one year warranty, but I doubt they'll cover this, because it's probably considered physical damage. Does anyone have any idea why this would have happened, so I can avoid it if I ever get this fixed? Thanks.

I'd say tell them the truth, and if they say its not covered (knowing Bell they probably will say its not covered) then say is a phone screen supposed to crack when it's outside?

If that doesn't work, try calling them. But really be honest and don't lie, it will usually make you unbelievable.

And if that bell store doesn't take it try a different one. Calling is probably the best way to get it dealt with if you get turned down at bell. They wanted to turn me down cause my receipt didn't have the serial number on it. Downside u will be waiting about a month or so for a replacement i have been waiting since June 14th for mine. Power button broke but fixed it with some paper. I hate bell for their customer service even though I sell their phones at work :P

Where do you live at? I live in Texas and it's blazing hot here and I never have problems. I left my phone in the car when I went to a water park and it was at least 120F in the car when I got back. Did you have a screen protector? Maybe that's it?

The phone was covered up, not to state this is the reason, but are you sure no one sat on the phone?

More than likely Bell won't replace it. But call Palm and explain that you have THE delamination problem and they'll hook you up. Happened to one of the Pres in my household.

    Conan,
    What is best in life?
To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the delamination of their women

Is that a lamination layer under the screen melting away due to excessive heat (in relation to hardware quality)?
There is a clear coat that will 'delaminate' from the front casing. In some cases hardly any heat will cause cracking and/or peeling. The coating material or process is definitely not good quality.

Thanks guys! And yeah, that thread is definitely what happened to mine. I'll call Palm in just a little bit and see what they have to say

edit: And PS, it wasn't that hot either. I'm in Canada, and I would estimate the temp to be somewhere around 80

Calling Palm will not help much. Bell Mobility handles all replacements, Palm can NOT replace bell mo devices. Your only recourse is through Bell.
