Hello new here, I just got a Palm Pre from eBay and its locked to o2

I have a Pay and Go o2 3G Sim that I have put into the phone. I can make and receive calls, send and receive texts and go on the web...the only thing I canít do is MMS iv tried to receive the setting for it but no luck and even manually put the Pay&Go setting and also the contract ones in but still no luck

...I rang o2 and they said cause the phone is only available to contract there is no setting for MMS on pay and go!

Has anyone else had this problem...and maybe found a way round it

    Please would love to know...thanks

is the internet working on it?

oops my bad, just noticed you said you could browse the web. I am sure they are right in what they've said, theres nowhere in the phone to edit mms settings and as its exclusive to contract they must be written into the software. Im not familiar with patching and homebrew but there may well be one out there to allow you to access them.

    Thanks

No, there's nothing in homebrew that can force the phone to use a service it isn't set to use and support. MMS has to go through your carrier's service.

Here are the settings for both o2 contract and payg

Access point name: wap.o2.co.uk (contract customers) or payandgo.o2.co.uk (pay-as-you-go customers)
Username: o2wap (contract customers) or payandgo (pay-as-you-go customers)
    Password: password
    Authentication: Normal
    Data bearer: GPRS
    Gateway IP (proxy) address: 193.113.200.195
    Session mode: Permanent
    Port number: 8080
    URL address: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002

And... my bad with the homebrew thing!

On a pre you need to put in the proxy address as 193.113.200.195:8080 or it will not allow the settings to be saved.

    Once done MMS works perfectly
