Palm Pre Not Lost Among This Summerís Competition | ZeitGeist News

Even with all the new phones being introduced this summer, the Palm Pre is still a popular choice for phone buyers. The summer has seen the iPhone 4 released, and a number of Android based smartphones are entering the market throughout July. Even so, the Palm Pre has features that some of the other smartphone manufacturers are just tapping into.

Palm was the first smartphone to offer us multitasking. Open mail, web, etc. and flip between all open apps without having to close out what youíre doing. The Pre also has a very efficient organization system. Keeping your contacts, mails, social networking and other information up to date is automatic. The layout of the WebOS makes finding your information easy.

As for apps, youíll find one for just about anything you could want. There are games, such as titles from the Need for Speed lineup, as well as apps for social networking, business applications and more.

Another big selling point for the Palm Pre is itís small size. Some of the new phones being introduced this summer, like the Droid X, are huge by cell phone standards. Add in a full qwerty slide out keyboard and camera with flash, and users find that they have a very smart smartphone thatís convenient and fully functional.

The Palm Pre Plus is now on the Verizon and AT&T networks as well. Originally only on the Sprint network, the expansion to these other major carriers is going to keep the Pre in the runnings against the competition for some time to come. In addition to the expanded availability, people signing up for AT&T or Verizon that are having trouble getting their hands on an iPhone 4 or Droid X, or who donít have the cash to shell out for a $200 smart phone will be attracted to the price of the Palm Pre Ė $0 after rebate.

If you havenít taken a look at the Palm Pre, itís definitely a phone to look at.

How is this a great review for Palm when in the end it mentions Palm has to give away a phone for nothing to try to compete...sure who wouldn't take a phone for nothing.

It's quite obvious that you're missing the point of the review.

Sounds a bit more like a sales pitch than a review. Nice to see positive stuff out there though.
