    it's like clearing the ram memory on a computer .while jstop collects garbage memory to reuse resetting the phone does the same thing , it just collects it all at once. This may not be the best way to explain it . But I tried lol

    To add to that it will clean up any possible memory leaks or processes running in the background from apps that may have been opened since the last restart.

    This isn't the case with all apps, but some apps do leave processes running or hold memory even though the card is closed. A reboot effectively kills all of that.
