    Hi All,

I don't know if I'm the only suffer, but my phone has started giving me a 20-30 sec intermittent delay when using the touch screen.

Does anyone know what might be causing this and how to overcome the problem?

    Many thanks

Not as bad, but approaching those times. Have had to resist throwing at the wall several times this week.

That is horrible, my Pre is fine, try resetting, if that does not work, go visit the doctor.

I was wondering if it was patch or software I installed, but no real way of testing it.

Hopefully someone will be along soon with a suggestion for us

You need the specific webOS Doctor for your version of Pre. Maybe someone from the UK can help you out.

I am assuming it is an O2 Pre unlocked to go on Vodafone.

As to your issue, you can do a reset and see if that works. Though if it is a corrupt patch or incomplete patch, the Doctor is who you need to see.

Yes, was on O2 then unlocked via server software to run on any network. I run it on Vodafone.

Is there not a straightforward fix for my delay issues?

I have done a phone reset or reboot and it didn't solve the prob...

What else can the doctor do, other than total reset my phone to its original state?

Nope, mine is instant. I do have this problem where I use one finger and it starts to zoom a la pinch and zoom. A quick wipe down of the screen fixed it though.

The problem is that it is next to impossible to know for sure what the cause of this issue is. All we can do is go to what will for sure fix it (WebOs Doctor) and go from there. I have never seen a delay like that on the touchscreen. It doesn't seem like a normal OS issue that I can recall. Your best bet would be to use the Doctor. It would just mean you would have to go through the unlock process again though as the Doctor will reinstate your O2 settings.

umm, I bought the phone unlocked and don't have the unlock credentials. I don't think the Doctor is an option for me

There are a few threads here that go through this. I will look.

    have you tried partial erase?

    http://ws.palm.com/webosdoctor/serialnumberinitial.htm

Go on that site and enter your serial number, then you would have access to webOS doctor for O2, make sure you have the latest Java.

It's usually the applications that do it, I previously done a reset due to experiencing the same issue but when you sign back in to palm profile you get the same apps back hence the touch delays again. I just deleted the apps and all the extra bits and bobs, that fixed it.

mine usually lags like this when Im reading or replying to an email that has got a bunch of replies... like if me and a friend of mine are going back and forth in the same email (we keep replying) then mine will lag up because of trying to load all the text...
