I have an old iPhone and when I put my sim from my pre plus in it doesn't work. Does anyone know why? I thought as long as the phones were on AT&T you could switch sims. I would like to use the iPhone sometimes also.

You have to use the sim card that came with the iPhone, I think... it's part of the security they use to lock the phones to the AT&T network.

    You have a 2G iPhone?

Could be the SIM is too new for the phone to recognize.

If it's a 2G iPhone it will probably need to be connected to iTunes for activation. Any AT&T sim will work in any iPhone model, even non 3G sims in newer ones.
