5/14: Today my Pre Plus helped me find a gas station that sells ethanol free gasoline while I was traveling on the interstate.

5/16: Today I was able to buy a male/male 3.5 mm audio cable to connect my Pre Plus to my car stereo's auxiliary input and listen to oldies from Net2Streams light for my 3 hour drive back home.

Off-topic: As far as I know, ethanol acts as a natural cleaner for the engine. I don't see the reason for a ethanol free fuel.

I used my Pre to calculate my GPS location with Google Maps and compared that to The Weather Channel app to estimated how much long we had to drive on our road trip before it stopped raining heavily. Also used it to find the nearest waffle house

Also off topic : Depending on the car, ethanol can damage the rubber components in the fuel system - particularly true on older vehicles.

On topic : Accuweather let me check the forecast during a call to plan an event for tomorrow.

Listened to RadioTime on a long commute (5 hrs)
    Replied to several emails
    Placed phone calls

Took a picture of something I think will make my wife laugh.

I used it to quickly find out how to calculate period on a sinosine graph thing on a math quiz.

From my understanding, ethanol basically acts as a filler. You pay for 10 gallons of gas, but only get 9. The other gallon is ethanol, which your car can't run on, so it just burns off. Extrapolate that out over the course of a year and figure how much filler you're paying for. I get about 30 miles extra on a tank of ethanol free gas as opposed to the 10% ethanol stuff. And my Pre Plus helped me find it.

My Pre Plus allowed me to get a Google Voice text from one of my Dropout Recovery students. She is pregnant and she and her boyfriend were kicked out of her mother's house this morning. I was able to engage in a text conversation with her while using mCraig to find a cheap apartment nearby with utilities included and then send an email with the Craigslist link and a request for deposit assistance to her caseworker, copied to my student (both email addresses found using Universal Search). I IM'd the dropout prevention specialist on GTalk about what was going on, before returning my attention back to the meeting I was sitting in. When the presenter had difficulty because the school district wireless went down, I turned my Pre into a Wi-Fi hotspot so he could finish.

That's what my Pre did for me today.

Nice! Now that's definitely multi-tasking! I love how you made a hotspot for a school district

Also makes your fuel economy worse.

Let's keep this going and promote what webOS can do. What have you done with your Pre lately?

That was my hope in starting this thread. For those who are considering buying a Pre, it might help them to see what current Pre users use their devices for on a daily basis.

This could be a Palm commercial. Seriously! This truly shows what this device is capable of in a real world setting. Awesome!

Over the course of two weeks we bought a steam and a vacuum cleaner and Pre really helped out pick the best one. Not only i was able to check out the model and reviews but i ended up purchasing the steam cleaner online as it was $20-30 cheaper.

This simply is not true. Ethanol is combustible, even in old engines that don't support flex fuel, as long as it is in a small amount, like 10-15%.

Ethanol is basically Moonshine... its the same alcohol that is in your vodka.

If you've ever tried to ignite vodka its burns pretty well: AKA a Molotov Cocktail.

In Brazil, their cars run on 85-100% Ethanol.

It would be pretty magical if it was filler and their cars ran on it.

Oh, and on Sunday my Pre helped me detour around highway 401 when there was parking lot style traffic. Took a single lane highway home instead using Google Maps.

    hard to top mrtonk's post...

mobile hotspot enabled me to smoothly watch The Daily Show when in hotel with limited channels and hotel wifi that was constantly pausing the dailyshow video feed

GPS enabled me to guide myself and one other to dance party earlier that evening in hard-to-navigate Cambridge Ma (full of confusing roundabouts)

Browser enabled me to quickly find beautiful park by the coast in northern MA for lunch spot eating along with the natives and take pics to email to friends later that night

Browser enabled me to quickly peruse menu of restaurant recommended by hotel for dinner and to decide not to go there based on the food choices

This weekend I used our families shared calendar repeatedly to figure out childcare for the next week. All of our primary caregivers share the same Yahoo calendar, so when someone makes a comment for a particular day, everyone sees it.

I also took movies of my kids at the park and uploaded them to Youtube, with one hand.

I ignored my work emails all weekend, but saw that they were there so I knew what to expect first thing when I got in.

My wife and I also share a Google Calendar. On my Pre, I can see all of my calendars (Exchange and multiple Google Calendars) on a single screen. If I had her Droid, I could not do this. I would have to flip back and forth between Calendar and Corporate Calendar.
