I can't get pdf's to show that are "printed" (ie. saved as pdf) from my mac. My other pdf's render fine.

I've had the same issue with the PDF Reader. Hasn't worked on my Pre from day 1. I've only tried downloading attached PDFs from emails, though.

I don't know how to fix this, but I get this only sporadically. Specifically when I open a PDF that was scanned (i.e. a PDF that is very large) - it doesn't happen to all large PDF's mind you. Any PDF's I have created myself with cutepdf have always worked perfectly. Hopefully more people explain what circumstances cause this error message to occur so we (and Palm) can benefit from a solution.

I have the same problem but it is only one specific PFD that I get e-mailed daily. Very frustrating...

I can download and see it, but the font is so small and I can't seem to zoom in. Any ideas?

I just tested by sending my Pre an email with PDF attachment. The attachment downloaded without a problem and I am able to zoom in on the text, using both multi-touch and double tap methods. So this doesn't seem to be a universal problem.

When I'm reading Palm webOS in pdf format I received the render document failed message after about four pages in. I tested three other books in pdf format with the same negative result.

I installed them while in usb mode from my mac.

Some work some don't. Palm's own PPP User's Guide won't render.

I just spent some time on tech support chat with Palm on this issue. They said they'll turn it over to an engineer and call me back. Wish me luck.

The only pdf that hasn't rendered for me is the Palm User Guide from the Palm web site. After chatting with Palm support I was turned over to a "specialist team." They made an appointment to call me and never called so I got on the phone to tech support and was connected to a "specialist." They say the file was created by a program that causes an internal conflict that prevents the document from rendering. They could not tell me what program created the file. They suggested I use the help function on the phone because it contains the same information. I don't really care about the user guide. I just wanted to know why the document doesn't work.

At least they now have an example of a file that doesn't work and know enough to fix the bug. Good on ya for providing Palm the info.

I just happened to receive 2 pdfs via email a couple days ago and I couldn't open or read them either. I have a VZ Pre Plus. I don't use it often but would be nice if it worked as the ones I received had a list of supplies I needed to get that day.

I had this problem off and on prior to 1.4.5, and now every PDF fails to render after a page or two. I'm considering reverting back to 1.4.1.1 to get my PDFs back.

I've been in contact with Palm Support and they said that my issue sounds isolated.

Try using a work-around to the issue. Load your .pdf files into a GoogleDocs account. I've had great success with adding GoogleDoc's to my Pre's bookmarks and then using that to view files. You get all of the features of pinch-zoom and landscape viewing.

Try GoogleDocs and see if that helps!
