    I had this problem too. My replacement is on its way. There are other postings about this too (not to give you a lecture, only to let you know that there are other's who have given solutions) but I tried replacing and removing the headphone jack from the port a couple of times and it would temporarily work. I would get a replacement if possible, as it's a known hardware issue with the Pre.

    cabjmb, this is the first time that this has happened, so if it becomes frequent, I'll swap it out.
