Ok so I love the copy and paste function using the gesture area and hitting 'c' or 'v'. It's just very cool and natural to do.

One thing that's taking too many steps is the ability to copy and paste phone numbers of contacts. For example, if I'm texting someone and want to send them a phone number from my contacts, I have to go into the contact, press edit, highlight the phone number, copy, go back to the text and paste.

Is this the only way? I was looking for a patch in Preware but nothing. Is there an easier way to copy a contact phone number? With my blackberry, if I was in a contact, I could click on the BB button and it would have an option to copy number.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I hate that you have to press edit to do anything to the contacts. Even deleting! At least there's a patch for that one.

I agree with you that there is way to many steps to copy and paste a contact phone number into anything anywhere. Also looking at the contact record it doesn't seem like meta tap A works to be able to quickly select all and copy and paste the information.

I will pass this feedback along.

Actually, here is a shortcut for you...

You can open up a new SMS window, type the name of the person whose number you want (as if you are sending them a text), and select the number. Once that is done, you can click on the name on the person in the "to" field and their number will be shown. At this point, you can Gesture-C to copy that number.

Note that if you are texting someone for the first time, you can also do this right in the TO field of that SMS message, and then just select the number once copied.

Still seems like a lot of steps, but it works pretty well. And if you add the messaging "compose to email" patch, you can do the same for email addresses as well.

Let me know if that makes sense, if you would like some screen shots
