I recently received a refurbished Pre from Best Buy after my old one's earpiece stopped working. Everything seems fine, it's in great condition, however when I plug it into my computer, I only have the option to go into USB Mode or charge the battery. This never happened with my old phone, so I'm wondering if it's an issue with the phone itself, or something else. Any thoughts?

1.4.0 brought the demise of Media Sync as a default option. USB mode will allow it to be recognized by your computer and apps like Media Monkey to move music.

Go to Device Info, and then open the preferences. There you can enable Media Sync.

Media sync is disabled by default if it has not been used before. This is to clean up the screen and not show icons that are not used.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I was sans-Pre for over a month so I missed some of the changes that 1.4 brought. I appreciate the help!

On a related note, I find the patch that makes "Charging" the default mode when you plug the Pre into a computer to be a great timesaver. I don't know how many times a day I had to select "charge" instead of USB or Media Sync, but it was in double digits, and annoying. Now, it just starts in charge mode, and then every few days, when I want it to be in USB mode, I just tap the little symbol at the bottom and put it in USB mode. For those that install patches, I highly recommend it.
