My company pays for a large portion of my cell phone bill (they use Verizon as we get a discount). I had a Pre on Sprint, but had to cancel and pay the ETF. No big deal as I was able to recoup the ETF by selling the Pre.

I tried the Droid for a few months - it has some cool features, but I really missed the layered calendars, integrated e-mail inbox and the multi-tasking. Yes, Android has multi-tasking but it is not as refined as WebOS.

Yesterday I picked up the Palm Pre Plus which includes the free 3g Mobile Hotspot. At activation I entered my old Palm Profile user name and password - voila! My settings, e-mail accounts and ALL MY APPS started to download. Sweet! I had some paid apps (Need for Speed and others) and are downloading as I write this.

At this point, not sure if I'm going to be installing patches. I'm tempted by the 800 mhz ipk, but not sure. I read that Palm isn't honoring warranties for those that change the CPU speed. Anyone here run into any warranty problems?

Glad to be back on WebOS!

definitely use the 800MHz .ipk! I do and it makes the phone complete lol.. Always throw in the cpuscaler from 500-800 to conserve your battery a little and you have a great device that performs how it should have out the box. IMO

ps: glad to hear you came back to webos!!

go to the first page and follow instructions. Pre is wicked fast w/ it and battery life is great, too. Works well w/ the cpu scaling ultimate from number1pete, too.
    don't forget to donate!

I got the impression that the scaling patch is something different from the 800MHz kernel. I think that richardschris thought the same thing.
    * Stuck patches? Partial erase worked for me.
    * Stuck virtual keyboard? Partial erase AND folder deletion worked for me.

Yes, scaling app is completely different. These aren't patches. Search for cpu scaler ultimate.
