Can someone help me with this. For some reason my Pre will not allow me to send a text or recieve a text to a few certain numbers. When I press the SMS button from the call screen the button does light up showing it has been pressed but it will not send to the number. I cannot receive a text from those numbers either. I have contacted Sprint and they are sure that I don't have the numbers blocked on their end. The problem is that the phone won't acknowledge the number at all. I have reset the phone on many occasion to no success. Please help

Have you tried deleting a problematic contact and re-adding to see if that resolves the issue?

Is the person in your contact list at all?

If they are follow these steps to get rid of the contact

1. Locate contact and tap on record
2. Tap menu upper left hand corner
3. Choose delete contact

After you have deleted the contact have the person send you a text message note the results.

Re-add the contact back by going to contacts and hitting the contact button bottom right. Have the other person send you another text. Note results.

Post back with both results.

Hardbeatz..This is exactly the problem that I am having. Is there a fix for this? I can't txt many friends and important people. Am I doing something that I should not do when storing or adding a new number? I have tried all of the things that you recommend to no success.

Short of recreating the the contacts again there is nothing that can be done for this issue that I am aware of, I can state that we have logged the issue though and are investigating the issue.

Palm should be ashamed for making the piece of SHISH phone. From day one I always have had problems. Nothing works within the phone consistently, it always has some type of lag, Shuts off by itself, And know over half of the number I get I can't text or recieve text from. And there is NO SOLUTION!!!!!! Sprint better drop the EVO soon or I am gone!!! Its a daggum shame that the phone is such a known piece of garbage that Sprint is dropping it in less than a year!!!!

I love how people complain, but continue to use the device... Even when there are several other established smartphones available. $10 says he comes back to the pre from the EVO
