Well, i don't believe in miracles. Something is definately wrong with either phone or PC. AS for now too many users have successfuly unlocked their Pres to have any doubts in software functionality.

It was all OS's that we have tested with users - 1.4.0 is in the list, so no doubts it's not in the OS version.

Can you try another USB port or PC?
Finally they fixed Firefox to open new tabs next to the active tab LOL!

I have a Mexican Telcel Pre - and I only have available to me an AT&T sim card. Thus I cant activate, or put it into DEVMODE it in order to unlock it. Is there something I am missing or can you point in a direction to get this going??
    - Thank you.

I am sure someone from forum will point you in a right direction, but i want to ask: is it a problem to activate via WiFi? I remember i flashed my phone with webOSDoctor and then used WiFi to activate it with my google account.

Right I've tried again, got in to Developer mode then tried to get in to "DIAG mode" using the #*8727277# code via the phone app.

Got in to the USB Passthrough menu, new problem now:

"Can't set passthrough state: com.palm.usbpassthrough is not running."

What have I done wrong, and how do I fix this?.

I'm also running WebOS Repair Utility 2.01 at the moment.

Finished running WebOS Repair Utility 2.01, it did find some errors but nothing major.

Still can't change the USB pass through options, someone please offer me a solution for this.

Actually in usb passthrough menu, select the second option and make sure DIAG is ticked. THATS IT. dont change anything else

    If that doesn't work,

Do a complete web doctor of OS and make sure it is a fresh install activated on the GSM network. Download the doctor V 1.4.0

    from this website

    then start over again

Thank God this is a known error. Fix is here:
    http://forums.precentral.net/webos-p...ml#post2152532

    Instructions:
Download attached file and unzip it.
    Start Webos Quick Install.
    Select Tool > Receive File.

    Under Receive file, paste this:
    /usr/palm/applications/com.palm.app.usbpassthrough/app/controllers/usbpassthrough-assistant.jsjsjs
Under Destination folder: the folder you'll back up your current file version to.
NOTE: this is to back up your current version, in case you want to put it back if this procedure doesn't work. Don't skip this step.

Then Select Tool > Send File
    Send the attached unzipped jsjsjs $file$ ($usbpassthrough$-$assistant$.$js$) $to$ $this$ $Destination$ $folder$:
    /usr/palm/applications/com.palm.app.usbpassthrough/app/controllers/

Reboot your Pre, just to be sure.
    Try entering diag mode again.

Pls note this file was possibly corrupted by your Pre's software. As far as I know, nextgenserver's unlock tool does not touch or edit this file. If this solves your problem, I think you owe Max/nextgenserver an apology for jumping to conclusions earlier in this thread.
    Just my humble opinion.

    what OS are you using?
  12. #512
Just to let all know: if you take more than 10 attemps (inserting the code), you get blocked and any other attemps won't work.

It seems, as nextgenserver.com support wrote me, that they are not able to generate an unblocked code that will let me enter the code generated by the software.

That's why I am sharing my experience with you...

Now I only hope that nextgenserver.com will refund me since I cannot use the code generated by their (great) software.

    1. You need to make sure you are using XP or Vista 32 bit operating system only.

    2. Make sure Novacom drivers are installed correctly (Novacom entry shows up in Windows device manager when you connect your Pre using USB)

    3. Make sure you have developer mode enabled

    To Clarify.

    I am using Vista 32Bit.

VISTA NEEDS EXTRA STEPS FROM THE INCLUDED INSTRUCTIONs.
In order for it to work i needed to do a few things.

Run as administrator (this is very important otherwise i get File access denied error)

    enter dial mode by yourself.
    dial #*8727277#

in the second row change none to DIAG

    then On USB Passthrough

    then unplug, replug

    go to windows device manager.

    right click REDUCED XXX

    click update driver.

Click Browser my computer for driver.

Click Let me pick from a list of device form my computer.

    Select Ports

    Select Have Disk

Locate the drivers C:\Program Files\Multi unlock
    Client\Palm Pre\drivers

select the palm pre diag port driver.

    leave dial mode by yourself.
    dial #*8727277#

in the second row change DIAG to NONE

    then OFF USB Passthrough

    then unplug, replug

RUN THE UNLOCK program and unlock. remember to run as administrator.(even if you are administrator)

Yes i installed all the drivers, as mentioned earlier followed every single step and made sure all relevant drivers are installed and properly working.
What do you mean by usbnet? if you mean developer mode yes i did that too.
Strange thing is i'm keep getting exactly the same msg "repeat or contact your reseller."
