Well... I say, "Bring it!"
I'll even add some Cygwin instructions for people with bandwidth or storage restraints... or are just afraid of the word Ubuntu. I'm not sure who wouldn't be able to use it in that situation. Does seem like quite a bit of work for Avg Joe, tho... just for a complete backup solution. But I'm sure they'd appreciate it when they see the end result. |

Copying over the PalmDatabase.db3 to a freshly-doctored Pre has caused me nothing but problems. I still backup up my db3 before I wipe it, in hopes that some day I can piece all my files together and get them back on the Pre... I also dream of a day that dashwire works on the Pre.

The one that Rod is talking about here, the Meta-Geneticist (which I believe is a Doctor that has been cloned from your Pre and is ready to be installed onto any webOS device with one click [ok, 3 clicks!]) seems to be a whole step in the right direction. |

That app saves application data so you can export it and then once a doctor or full erase. The app we are talking about/wanting here, is one that would give us a more customized version of a webos dr. to put it simply. So say you Dr. your phone, install all of your apps/patches/themes/tweaks. Then you would take the image of the phone. Then in the future, instead of having to go thru preware and re-install all of your patches and what not, you would just "doctor" your phone with this image instead. |

![]() Nice work, tdps2 - let me know if you need server hosting for your package - if it's open source we can put it up on ipkg.preware.org somewhere if you don't have your own hosting for what I expect will be a popular package. -- Rod
