I'm here reading all of these horrible things about Palm and their future, myself I am a new Pre Plus owner here with Verizon and am disgusted at by the way Verizon handled these two great phones. Is there anyone out there thinking about returning their Pre if they are under the 30 day guarantee?? I'm contemplating it but wouldn't know what to do without my Pre Plus. Nothing on Verizon compares to this great phone, not even the Droid. Now announcements of the Pre Plus and Pixi Plus on AT&T is nice but what does that mean?? Is Verizon calling it quits, I believe so, hopefully AT&T does a better job with the phones and lets hope that T-Mobile gets in to this mix, Palm needs as much carrier support as they can get. So anyone here going to bail on this great phone or are you going to stick it out till the end?

The WebOS platform is currently the best mobile platform out. I've tried Android and it is usable. I've tried iPhone and RIM and both make me want to hurt myself.

I'll be on WebOS for quite a while. News is rarely as good or bad as people try to make it out to be. But, I really hope Palm has some cool hardware in the works.
Your Pre wants Word Whirl from the App Catalog.

    It told me.

I would say use whatever phone suits you the best, but Im not jumping ship. Sprint doesn't have a phone that can even begin to compare to my pre and until they do Ill be a pre user.

I do agree that WebOS is the best MobileOS out there, but for some reason people don't see it. As for jumping ship I probrably won't do it, the Pre Plus with Preware is just too good, even if the battery life is a little bad =p, just gotta manage I guess.

No need to worry. The anylists have been predicting Palms demise for the past 5 years. Nothing new there.

Palm and WebOS are not going anywhere. They will be around for a long time to come. Palm may or may not get aquired but that will have little effect on us as the end users.

The only people who have anything to worry about are the investors. We, as end users, can just ignore all the doom and gloom while we enjoy the best smart phone OS that is on the market.

Nope...I've only had the phone for 9 months. It would be a waist of my money to dump it now.

WebOS is the greatest mobile OS available right now, but hardware quality leaves a lot to be desired. Either way, if I think WebOS is here to stay, it is just to good to disappear, even if it means someone buying out Palm.

What he said. Why would I move to an inferior OS?

Buying a phone is a small investment. If you don't care about getting some money out of your investment when you will want to sell it, then don't jump ship. If you do care, then I would suggest that you sell your Pre as fast as you can. Palm won't last long

No! I am NOT jumpin off the ship.
    for variuos reason.
    main are:
    1) I'm not that rich. 480 euros for an unlocked Pre...this one should resist as long as he can
    2) webOS is still the king IMHO. I dunno why people like iPhone so much, but I'm an IT specialist. no way I'll do one thing at a time!!!! multitasking glory must be... A MUST!

the day Palm will come out (I hope they can resist to do so) with a super tanked phone with webOS and right marketing choices, there will be no android. no iphone os. no rim superdumb os. just the King. or at least... I hope so!!!
BTW the answer is NO! I'll keep my Pre.

I'm not jumping ship any time soon. I'm interested in seeing this company succeed, mainly because I'm an irrational Palm ******. Always have been.

It's pretty embarrassing and silly when I think of how much I like this company, and its products. I don't even feel this way about Apple, and I love my Macbook.

While this latest round of doom-and-gloom had me bummed over the weekend, I've resolved to delve deeper into the SDK and push forward with developing apps. I'm even thinking about putting together a meetup group in my region (southern california if anybody's interested!) to collaborate and share ideas.

I don't like imagining what it would be like in a Palm-less mobile world. All I'd have to play with are Android and Apple, neither of which I'm too thrilled about. Ok ok, maybe more Apple then Android, Google's whole thing with privacy irks me a bit.

I just got on this boat too, and it's gonig to take more than a few waves over the bow to make me jump. WebOS is everything I expected and more, but it does take some getting use to. My wife moved from an iPhone to the Pixi. I never got questions from her on how to the use the iPhone, but I get questions all the time on how to use the pixi. But she's enjoying it more everyday. Palm and WebOS may be sold to the highest bidder, but its not going to vanish into thin air.

Probably my gadget hunger will force me buying a new phone by the end of the year. Depending on the state of Palm then it will either be the latest and greatest WebOS device or something else, most likely Android based or I might even try WM7.

I'll be lost without my Pre i hardly use my PC/laptop any more at home. So in short the answer is NO...been with this phone since launch.

I'm here until there is no more Palm, I love my phone!! I like many, have played with almost all other phones, and don't get it. WebOS is far better, I really think if someone with a I(nferior)Phone would just sit and test a Pre they would switch in a heartbeat. IMO

it's hard for me to say. I picked up my Pre on the cheap off of craigslist so I don't have a huge financial tie to the phone. I agree with the sentiments expressed, webOS is the best thing out right now. However, if the specs on the Supersonic match what's been leaked, it will be hard for me to resist. I will, of course, wait for official word before making any decision. I do know that I would like to try a 4G phone as there is good WiMAX coverage here in Vegas. I'm hoping that Palm will have something to one-up the Supersonic. Big screen, 1+ Ghz processor, 4G and a sturdy slider mechanism whether it be vertical or landscape. They don't even have to have a mock-up at CTIA. Just announce something that I want and i'll wait it out. I like webOS that much. But if they don't give me anything to look forward to, I probably will see what the Supersonic and Android 2.1 are all about...Come on, Palm! Throw me a bone!!

I will stick with Palm, Web OS and my Pre Plus for as long as they are around. I invest too much in my phones with purchasing all the apps and getting it all set up the way I want it. Why start over? I love my Pre!! I've been waiting for my oportunity to purchase it (had a Centro for 2 years and loved it and can use all my games on my Pre that I purchased) and now I have it. Can't give up now. ;-)
