Is there a patch for midi codec for the pre? If not can someone make it please

I don't think the pre has a MIDI soundbank (hardware, not software.) So I don't think it would be possible.

There is a patch to add .avi support. That might work...

AVI doesn't use MIDI anywhere, that's either AAC or MP3 audio. Mostly MP3, 128kbs or a bit more.

Older Palm Treos had MIDI support for playback, in fact, had to, they didn't support MP3 for ringtones. I don't know if the Pre does, the stock ringtones are WAV format. MIDI support requires a built-in database of tones, "instruments" if you like. Any patch would have to include that database usable by WebOS. At any rate, it's not a "codec", it's a complete package with a player that works on capable hardware.
