Sprint swapped my phone out this morning at 11am. Its now after 2pm and I still cannot sign into my Palm Profile. This frustrating considering the phone is virtually useless until you sign into your Palm Profile.

This is the error after it tries to sign in..

    DATA NOT RESTORED

We were unable to restore your data.
Please wait a few minutes and try again.

    Usually happens when either:

    - Palm's servers are overloaded
    - Your carrier's servers are overloaded
    - Your SIM card is damaged

If you're CDMA obviously the third option doesn't apply. All I can suggest is that you keep trying - I've had this error plenty of times myself but it always started working again after waiting a little while.

    Good luck

if this was just swapped today then it might be possible that Sprint may not have ported everything from your old device to the new one. they might have ported the voice part but not the data on the new device usually they need to register your new MEID with your account. im not sure but you might need to try to contact sprint first

oh and one more thing, do you have the EV icon on the upper right part of the screen. is it grayed out or in white?

    ^^I agree with the above.

Are you able to sign into your account at the Palm's 'Manage My Device' site?

Are you able to create a new profile? This way we can tell if it's a profile issue or not.

Yes, I am able to log into Palm's "Manage My Device" site.
2 pres are listed on that site. MEID # on phone listed as primary matches the new phone.

I do not have the option to create a new profile. Just a sign in page.

    Do a backswipe.

You have probably already selected sign into an existing profile. If you back swipe back to where it says
    1. Create a new profile
    2. Sign into an existing profile

Choose the create a new profile option.

i just realized this phone is still running WEBos 1.3.5.1 and my old profile was on 1.4..

Think that could be the culprit?

Try updating and then do a partial erase and then try to sign into your original profile.

I created a new profile. Then I downloaded WebOS 1.4. After WebOS 1.4 was installed, I did Full Erase. On the reboot, I signed in with my old palm profile.

All is slowly coming back now...

Thanks for the all the help guys.

Had the "try in a few minutes" problem. Called sprint, after talking to three different techs. over a two day period. A sprint tech told me the serial number was not updated for the replacement pre. on palms end. Then they finally got me over to palm, after i created a new generic profile so I could use the phone They had me update the new phone to 1.4. Then I had to partial erase and was able to log in with the original palm profile. Everything restored to norm. except pics which the local sprint repair place kindly put on sd card for me.

    hope this helps
