    I did manage to find a solution.

    First, I assume no responsibility for any damage done to your equipment from going through with this modification. If you wish to continue, you do so at your own risk. That being said, there should be no reason for this to "brick" your pre.

    1. In WOSQI, select Tools, Receive File.
    File = etc/palm/browser-app.conf
    Destination Folder = (Whatever you want it to be, just remember where you put it)
    Press "Get From Device"
    In WOSQI, select Tools, Linux Commandline
    At the prompt: cp /etc/palm/browser-app.conf /etc/palm/bak.browser-app.conf
    If everything went well, move to 2

    2. Open the file we just saved in your favorite text-editor (Wordpad works well)
    At the end of the [General] section add this line: MaxImagePixelCount=10485760
    Save the file.

    3. In WOSQI, select Tools, Delete File/Directory.
    Type = File
    Path = etc/palm/browser-app.conf
    Press "Delete!" and confirm the deletion.

    4. In WOSQI, select Tools, Send File.
    File = (the file we just edited earlier)
    Destination Folder = etc/palm/
    Press "Send To Device!"
    If everything went well goto 5

    5. Reset your device

    I know these are not very well written directions, I'm very sorry. If someone would like to make a prettier how-to, thanks in advance.

    So far, my results are varied, but overall much much better. I've been using this setting most of the day today, and the smaller setting a few hours prior. Test it out, and I will try to find out about making a patch. Unless someone wants to school me on that.

    Many times at work when I get bored I like to browse image boards. After my update last night any large images I try to veiw will not load. Before the update I had loaded images that were 4megs and larger. This would not be an issue if I could at least manually tell it to load the image, but if I can I am unaware how. It may seem stupid, but this is a make or break feature for me.

    Edit: I've tried clearing the cache and resetting the device, no luck. I have not been able to load an image above 1024x768.

    I hope we can get a patch for this. Also I should mention I am on verizon, as this could be a carrier restriction.

    do you have any patches installed? I am getting certain websites that I was able to access before 1.4, not render anymore. One is chase mobile version and the other is hotschedules.com. Hotschedules loads up the main page, but once I enter in my info, it loads up blank.

    Definitely not a Pre/WebOS issue-- I loaded a 3000*2000 image just fine.

    EDIT:
    Ok, never mind. It doesn't happen all the time.

    You may have to do some Googling-- I can't make that URL public. Sorry

    Agree, will not open on my GSM 1.4 Pre
    Thought of the day :
    No sense being pessimistic, it probably wouldn't work anyway

    I found it very unpredictable. But does happen quite often.

    I did some searching on google. I thought maybe it was just images inbedded in html, but that does not seem to be the case. I have not tried over wifi, I will this evening.

    Wifi makes no difference.

    Actually the browser seems very buggy now with 1.4. I wonder if we can get the old browser on here as a separate app.

    I get this problem with my 1.4, I do have patches though...I hope when the patches get updated for 1.4 the error will be fixed

    After a random reboot, I uninstalled all patches. It makes no diff.

    There definately used to be a size limitation for images you could view within the browser. Then with 1.3.1 the limitation seemed to be loosened or removed. It now appears it is back with a vengeance.
