If you're asking how to remove the SQL database entirely, so that the Pre doesn't attempt to use it, that would be very very bad. Almost all config stuff is stored in there.

If you just want to copy the file off the phone, that's a different story-- you need to either root the phone and copy it to the USB partition, or get sftp on there or something.

I haven't tried it to verify, but the following should work:
    Code:
    sudo ipkg-opt remove mysql
BTW, just for clarity, this install of mysql is different than the defaul sql light service. This is full blown mysql.

    it gave me this...

    root@palm-webos-device:/# sudo ipkg-opt remove mysql
    sudo ipkg-opt remove mysql
    Removing package mysql from root...
    Successfully terminated.

It's terminated but is it removed completely?

    Any way to verify?

Sounds like it worked. Type the command again. You should get a "no packages removed. Nothing to be done" message if it's gone.
