For example: LED Notification - Hide Media Sync - SMS to email

Do we need to do anything about those patches or will be taken care of automatically?

    Thanks

I think the general consensus is to remove ALL patches before any updates.

No need to do that anymore. Only themes

I don't think this is the general consensus. If anyting, its 50/50.

Since its only 3 patches in question, just remove those 3.

I only had around 10 patches if that so I just uninstalled them. I just want to see how I like 1.4 for a little while without patches.

Just the opposite, 75% are keeping their patches on for the update:

i asked this question earlier and got an answer direct from Jason R. Any patches that u have installed now will be overwritten by the "official" code that palm puts out in 1.4.....no need to uninstall anything. (with the exception of themes of course )

I'm going to remove mine, not out of fear, but out of wanting to see what is actually new with WebOS. I like not patching unless the patch is needed. I'm also having weird problems with luna not automatically refreshing after installing from the app catalog (app is permanently stuck in 'installing' mode). Hoping that will be enough to get things back to normal.

I'm 99% sure you should. And it's better to be safe than sorry.
