In the SMS application on the phone I am attempting to use the Yahoo IM feature, after inputting my account info I hit the sign in button and the phone stays at the sign portion(little circle spinning).

Trouble Shooting Ive done(after searching forums for other posts:
    1. Reenter account info
    2. Reset password through yahoo.
    3. Removed yahoo account then reset then reenter account info.
    4. Removed all IM accounts then just reenter yahoo account
    5. Removed all patches/themes/homebrew apps/service...then steps 1-4 again.
    6. Contact palm representive, they ran me through all the previous steps again.
    7. Ran partial erase than readded yahoo account.
    8. Ran EPR(just in case an residual patch or scripts still remained) then ran WebOS repair utility which found nothing.

Any other ideas???? Thanks in advance.BTW love this community and all the work you do.

Dunno what to tell you, I'm in the same boat, and I've tied the same thing you have and nothing has worked. At this point I'm just looking for a 3rd party IM client instead of it being integrated in messages.

Im currently signed up to yahoo mobile IM(through the actuall program), which just send texts from a number if someone sends them to your yahoo im. This isnt a huge deal but it is a service that is provided to me so id like to use it, i just usually switch my phone to my wifi and send IMs because the network coverage isnt great in my house.

You could try Greg's plugins. I'm using his yahoo plugin and it's working fine.

It could be a corrupted messaging application somehow.

Can you confirm that if you sign into a different profile the problem still occurs? This might tell us if it's
    1. a profile problem or
    2. A yahoo problem

I suspect the problems came from when I installed this. I had all my IM's working then I forgot to remove it when I did a firmware upgrade that would have added Yahoo to the IM list. But all my efforts to fix this has done nothing...

As a last resort go to Palm's site and WebDoctor your phone. it will wipe it back to the original state.

I had used the Messaging plugin mentioned above. I had to turn my backup feature off and delete the backup before I ran the Doctor on it. Otherwise the corrupt messaging features get reinstalled.

I've found that yahoo messenger doesn't always push your messages in a timely fashion. I sometimes have to go back into the conversation before it will give me new messages.

I also have the same issue and im tired of it, i somtimes get the log in failed and sometimes it works. i think its a issue on palms side, they need to recode the synergy with yahoo.
