    One of my colleagues at work answered this question for me:

    "It's a feature of capacitive screens. On phones with resistive screens, you hit the onscreen shift key, release, and then hit the key you want to capitalize. On capacitive phones like the Storm and iPhone, you can keep your finger on the shift key while hitting another key.

    Of course, no onscreen keyboard an substitute for the real thing, right?"

    Despite sending Verizon 3 different emails and getting their response that they would fix it, this issue is still there on their web site, 2 weeks later. *sigh*
