I want to get a replacement phone. My problem is I have several homebrew apps that have moved on to the official Palm App store.

I used Filecoaster to download them when they were still available for free.

How can I get one of the programs off my old Pre and on to my new phone if they dont exist anymore in filecoaster.

All these people trading in phones ever run into this?

Just suck it up and buy the official version! If it's an App you like and use, be happy you got a free version for so long... but I know that for me, when Apps I got thru Homebrew graduate to the Official catalog, I like to support the developer (and Palm) and officially buy these Apps!

(The only App I didn't immediately buy was Pack n Track because I couldn't justify spending $8 for an App a rarely used...but when it went on sale around thanksgiving, I was happy to buy it for just a few dollars)

Before you judge, I gave a Paypal donation already when it was being tested.
    Please get the facts first!

If it can't be done then fine, I was just asking if there was a way. I dont use the apps that much just as a time killer, but I would like to keep them if possible.

If you donated, why not contact the developers directly for an ipk? Maybe they value your donation and will help you get a new working copy of their application to you.

That would be what i would do. if all else fails buy them back but if u donated i dont see why they would not throw you a full version copy

The developer can give you an ipk but then each time he / she updates the app you will be back to square one. Best bet is to just bite the bullet and pay for the app.

I also donated to many of the homebrew developers but I also knew full well that when the app was out of beta that I would need to purchase it through the catalog as well.
