Google Reader broken for 3 updates now.

Alright, so I'm getting quite frustrated over this. I love reading my RSS feeds, and I always did so via Google's own mobile reader site. That is, until it decided one day to give me this error: "Oops...an error occurred. Please try again in a few seconds."

THIS IS MADDENING. I can read things via the "All items" feed, but I want to be able to choose which specific feed I'm reading. I've tried everything I can think of:
-Clearing browser cache, cookie etc.
-Logging in with a different google account
-Trying via wifi
-Resetting the device
-Unpatching everything from the device
-Doctoring the device
-Deleting EVERYTHING off the device and reactivating
-It has even gone through updates 1.2-1.3.5.1

I'm completely at a loss, and I honestly DO NOT know what is going on. Any help? Thank you.

I'm with Bell Canada by the way, CDMA, unlimited data plan etc.

I CANNOT believe that I went through absolutely everything, and finally figured out a semi-solution right as I lost my wits and took the time to post this.

I changed the url to read: https://reader.google.com/
It seems making it https rather than http works fine fixes it.

I wonder if this means there is a proxy server somewhere with Bell that is mucking up something here. I'll do some tests.

Thank you very much for posting this MrGreencastle! I was getting the exact same error with Google Reader on my Bell Pre. While the https://reader.google.com/ address only took me to the mobile version of Google Canada, I was able to use https://www.google.com/reader/i and got the same result as you did. Google Reader Mobile has most of the features I was looking for in a mobile RSS reader, so this will easily work for me until we get paid apps in Canada. Hooray!

there is an issue with how the web browser redraws the screen. once you do an action on google reader, like refresh or mark all as read, you can rotate the pre to a different position (I.E. landscape to portrait or vice-versa) and back again, it should properly redraw the screen to reflect the changes.

I'm a bit confused by the problem proposed here...is it fixed with the 1/13/10 update to google reader mobile?

I'm having another issue with the updated reader mobile in google. Sometimes, when i have an opened article, and i open a different unread article...the screen is blank and i have to scroll UP to get to the article.

anyone else?

I believe this has to do with HTML anchoring, if I got the term correct.

An example is when I get a thread update email. On a desktop browser, the emailed link will take me to the exact post. But on the Pre, the browser will just go to the last page, and not automatically scroll to the relevant post.

So what's happening when you open the second G'Reader post, it doesn't automatically take you to the proper place on the page. Hopefully the next WebOS update addresses this.
