3D games will be in catalog today.

That mobile hotspot will cost ya though. In addition to the "plus" Verizon already will charge you.

the Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus are coming to Verizon on January 25th, not February. Mobile Hotspot app is only for Verizon (as in the Palm announcement), and like someone else said, 3D games will start appearing today in the US App Catalog for the Pre only, so far.

Here is some of the transcript of the Palm Press Conference at CES:

I have Highlighted in red and bold, areas of interest

LAS VEGAS--After introducing the showstopper at last year's show, Palm is back again to make new device announcements at CES 2010. Some speculate it will be revamped versions of the Palm Pre and Palm Pixi for Verizon, but AT&T also said on Wednesday that it would launching two Palm WebOS devices soon.

We'll be at the Palm press conference to provide you with live coverage of the event when it starts at 11 a.m., PT so check back soon for the full story.

10:54 a.m. Seated and waiting for the press conference to start. Not as big as big or packed as last year's event. Just got a five-minute warning.

11:00 a.m. Palm Chairman Jon Rubinstein is on stage. Talking about all the various awards Palm has won over the year, including Best of Show last year.

11:05 a.m. Rubinstein: We worked very hard on WebOS and it's proved to be everything we imagined and more. It has allowed us to reach a broad community. We've had over 85,000 SDK downloads in 108 countries.

11:07 a.m. Palm cares about keeping you connected and making sure you never miss a thing. Palm Pre is a great example of that experience.

11:08 a.m. Palm Pre is now available in seven countries worldwide. Now playing a video of the Pre around the world.

11:09 a.m. Today, we're going to announce a new European partner: France. Partnering with SFR. Jean-Marc Tasseto, Senior EVP Consumer for SFR takes the stage.

11:10 a.m Tassetto: We have 25 million mobile customers. First to introduce 3G technology to the French market. Currently, 10 million of our customers have smartphones. Our mission is to provide customers with the best smartphones of the world.

11:13 a.m. Tassetto: Why did we choose Palm? 70 percent of our customers know Palm. There is a positive buzz around the brand. We share the same philosophy: it's all about the customer experience, making it as simple and as exciting as possible.

11:15 a.m. Rubinstein back on stage. Now introducing Katie Mitic, SVP of product marketing for Palm.

11:16 a.m. Mitic: Formally opening our developer program. Any developer is now free to submit their WebOS apps.

11:17 a.m. Over the last 3 months, we've increased number of apps 10 times, which should increase even more with the open developer program.

11:18 a.m. Taking a completely new approach to application distribution. We're opening up our database of application descriptions to all our developers and the entire Web community.

11:20 a.m. Hot apps bonus program: incentive program best-selling apps. Also announcing the Palm WebOS plug-in development kit (PDK). Developers can now create plug-ins for WebOS.

11:23 a.m. PDK will launch in March. Talking about 3D gaming now. New game titles starting today, taking advantage of PDK. Some titles include EA's Need for Speed, Scrabble, Sudoku.

11:25 a.m. Now doing a live demo of Sims 3 on the Palm Pre. Looks pretty slick and running smoothly.

11:26 a.m. Next demo is Need for Speed, a car racing game. Running in real-time in 3D. Using the accelerometer to maneuver the car. I'm impressed. Very little lag and graphics look good.

11:28 a.m Mitic is now inviting Paul Cousineau, director of product marketing for Palm. Cousineau: Announcing video recording.

11:30 a.m. Doing a live demo of video recording. You can also edit video. Timeline of video frames. You can drag the handles to shorten the video.

Using the Deck of Card feature, he goes to reply to the text message and goes back to the SIMS game, exactly at the point he left off.

11:34 a.m. Showing Flash 10 on the Web browser with support for the plug in. Avatar movie trailer is now playing within the browser. Pre customers can download a beta of the Flash plug in from the app catalog soon.

Yeah, but if the core functionality is there... I doubt it will not be long before it is "taken advantage of".

    I liked seeing this.

The Palm Hot Apps Program will reward developers of the hottest webOS applications with a total of $1 million. The top rewards of $100,000 will go to developers as follows:

The developer of the free webOS application that’s downloaded the most between February 1, 2010, and May 31, 2010 will receive a $100,000.
The developer of the paid-for webOS app that generates the most revenue during the same period will also receive $100,000.
Developers of other top free and paid apps will also receive cash awards, as follows:

The next 20 apps in each category: $10,000 each
The next 200 apps in each category: $1,000 each
To qualify for an award, your app – either free or paid – must be available to webOS users via Palm distribution programs between February 1, 2010, and May 31, 2010. In addition, the following criteria apply:

Now there is some incentive which should create a ton of interest in development for webOS.

the pre is capable, and before the full potential is utilized, there is no reason to do full refresh of product line, maybe in another 6 months
