Search by Voice was launched earlier this year letting you search just by talking. And then, Voice Command came later with the Verizon Droid. So now you can say “Navigate to Ikea”, and it will know where you are, and show search results in order to give you turn by turn navigation directions. That was with 2.0. But what if you can use voice on every text field on the phone? They voice enabled every text field in the device.

Here’s a special app that hasn’t launched yet, but he’ll give a sneak peek today. It’s Google Earth for Android.

Now he’s dictating a text that actually came out correctly. The voice recognition service is being handled on the backend, and works fast to deliver results.

And what's this I hear about their app space being limited to 512??

I thought the Pre was the only one that was dumb in that respect! (Thankfully, no longer...) But really - am I really hearing about this Android problem for the first time today?!

Q: "Why only 512MB for app storage?" In a future software release, we'll enable encryption for storage on SD card.

Only the smallest of install files goes in that space. The vast majority of app files go to your SD card. I have 35 or so apps on my Hero. Never had a problem.

'Nexus One' -- sounds like a hair product. Why not the 'gPhone'?

I..want..this! The thing that caught me was the multicolor LED for notifications. How..awesome! The voice function sounds pretty sweet as well, especially with can't use phones while driving, voice texting sounds might good right about now. I think the wow for me this CES period is the Nexus. I hope I'm wrong and that Palm will just drop a bomb and blow me away but I'm not sure thats going to happen.
