I was backing up my Pre for the first time (replacement Pre) and noticed it was backing up a lot of files. I looked and there is a .palm directory with a lot of sub-directories and files (see attached). What is this? Can I delete it?

I was thinking that was the /media/cryptofs directory.

    Anyone?

I am pretty sure Jason is right. I think /media/cryptofs is the unencrypted view only visible from the device. If you delete it (if you even can), you will probably find that none of your apps work anymore.

the file .cryptofs found in /media/internal/.palm/

contains the hash code for the phone to decrypt the files

is there a way to back up this folder?

yes... Create a new folder on your Usb drive and than do the following
    Copy the folder /media/cryptofs/apps/usr/palm/applications/
open terminal or terminus or woqi install and type

    Code:
    cp -rf /media/cryptofs/apps/usr/palm/applications/ /media/internal/new folder

thanks, but I was actually talking about the /media/internal/.plam/ folder. I keep getting a "the path/file name is too long" error when i try to copy/rar the folder to my pc(win7 & ntfs).
