I have had the need to call 911 a few times, and every single time, it bricks me til I pull the battery.

Sprint blames Palm, Palm blames Sprint.

This is pretty huge if it is all Pres... Anyone else have this problem?

I would guess this doesn't happen to all pres since people have complained about accidentally calling 911 because the password screen makes it too easy.

I have had to call 911 a few times and I have never had this problem.
An Iphone walks into a bar with a Palm Pre on it's shoulder. The bartender looks up and says, "Hey, that's pretty cool, where can I get one of those?" and the Palm Pre says "Hipstertown, they're all over the place"

I believe he was talking about palm blaming sprint and spring blaming palm, not your reasons for multiple 911 calls.

But anyways, it is hard to replicate this in front of a tech because it is an emergency line but it seems to be enough for a replacement, at least with insurence.

Have you tried doing a webOSDoctor on the phone? Erasing it to a fresh start. That might solve the issue.

Being a professional Firefighter/EMT I have used it over a dozen times when off duty with no issue at all. Note though, your phone will get into a 911 "loop" when you call them. You have to cancel and back out of the 911 dial redial loop after you end the call. It is set up that way so you can call them back with one tap if disconnected. Is that maybe what you are taking about?
Please don't use the word "brick or bricked". That is what happens to the other guys, not the Pre. A bricked phone is never used again.

Nope, Never even connects the call.

And brick is probably the closest term. The phone is completely toast til I pull the battery. No screen, no buttons, no nothing.
