ok so i'm not really sure if my phone is running at 600 or not. this is what i get from command line using webos quick install.

    root@palm-webos-device: cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/stats/time_in_state
    600000 371482
    550000 1569
    500000 765580
    250000 0
    125000 0

and then the second time i run this:

    root@palm-webos-device: cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/stats/time_in_state
    600000 371740
    550000 1569
    500000 765580
    250000 0
    125000 0

    am i at 600?

My screen was freezing with the SR 500 patch after the 1.4 update, I was forced to remove it. I had been using this patch for 4 months without any problems, really gonna miss it, when idle, my pre would only use 1/2 percent per hour

Finally took the the dive and did the 600 patch, not to be all geeked up (which i obviously am) but i do see a nice lil bump in speed. Thanks to all the people who showed all the diff ways to install. Like a post earlier said, read up as much as possibe till you feel comfortable with making the change. I did and i love it. Oh yeah and i'm rockin the 1.4. No problems at all.

i think that the thread kind of took a turn when the smart reflex part was not working out in 1.3.5, and so people were posting ways of enabling just the new cpu speed without the smart reflex.

maybe i'm off, but that's what i got out of it.

I was just curious if anyone else had problems with the SR patch working with 1.4, that's all, thanks.

oh, gotcha. i haven't heard much on that. really though, sometimes i wonder when people say what they are using, if they are really sure about which it is/what it does.

yes my friend, welcome to 600mhz. What you are seeing is the time spent at the different frequencies. You are spending a lot more on 500 for some reason, however. Strange.

    Hello all,

Long time lurker here and really appreciate all the work and effort behind improving the Pre. I have had one from launch date and this community is what has kept me hanging on! :-)

Doing some late night reading and just stumbled across this Luna600 patch thread so I dug in for the meat and man-oh-man-oh-man...talk about a HUGE difference. Maybe I have had the phone so long that any speed increase is appreciated but I notice scrolling, selecting, launch speed, everything is much smoother and snappier. I can not wait for the bump to 720 or 800.

I am using the Seidio 2600 mah battery so even if I do lose a little battery time, I could care less. I will take snappier response over a little runtime any day of the week! :-)

Just had to chime in. If anything negative shows up I will report but right now I am one-happy-puppy!

How do you remove the 600mhz patch below in preparation for 800mhz patch?

    mount -o remount,rw /
    cd /usr/bin
    sed "s/500000/600000/g" LunaSysMgr > newlunasysmgr
    mv LunaSysMgr LunaSysMgr.orig
    mv newlunasysmgr LunaSysMgr
    chmod +x LunaSysMgr
    sync
    mount -o remount,ro /
    pkill LunaSysMgr
