I recently sold my Palm Pre to someone. They went up to the local Sprint store and tried to get it activated on there account, but were unsuccessful. I am thinking that because the IMEI number is still tied to my Palm Profile, that it will not work. Is this correct? If not, how does the new owner get this phone activated?

As long as it has been deactivated from your account it should activate fine. Your palm profile should have absolutely nothing to do with it.

Palm profile will not prevent activation. The phone must be deactivated from your account. If you have a new phone with your number on it than this has already been done. The rep should be able to do an RTN reset to bring the phone back to factory default. This should correct any activation problems with the phone. if activation still will not proceed than it is either a system issue or a problem with the phone.

Thanks everyone! The new owner let me know late yesterday that he was able to activate the phone.
