I just read the "What icons do you have on your Quick Launcher" thread and that got me wondering...

How many launcher pages do you have and do you organize your pages...

Personally I prefer to swipe side-to-side than up-and-down, so I have 6 pages each containing less than a pageful of icons. I'm using the 4x4 icon patch.

I group my apps as follows, but I'd love to hear how others organize their Pre.

    1) PIM / Social Networking
    2) Multimedia
    3) Web / Mapping / Search
    4) News / Weather / Sports
    5) Tools / Calculators / Convertors
    6) System

To get more than the default 3 pages, you'll need a patch. Look at the App Launcher section in this post:

    1. Most used apps
    2. Internet-based apps (Ex. rss feeds, DrPodder, Netflix)
    3. Multimedia
    4. Games
    5. Stuff I never look at

So I primarily just use 1-3

It requires a patch, you can't do it from a stock Pre.

I'm running the Reset to Middle Page launcher patch. That means I wanted an odd number of pages and the middle one is prime real estate because it always comes up first. My organization is:

    1. unused (just here to get an odd number)

    2. Media, travel, games

    3. Main page. Most used apps (Evernote, SplashID, Popelli Reader, RPN calc, Stopwatch/Timer, Weatherbug, Flashlight, GoogleMaps

    4. System stuff - Preware, Luna Manager, App Catalog, all the prefs apps

    5. Icons I never click (either stuff I launch indirectly like Messaging, PDF viewer) or preinstalled crapware I haven't bothered to hide. Yet. (Amazon MP3, Sprint TV)

With this organization, what I want is either immediately available, or at most a single left or right flick away. Works great.

I use just one page so I only need to scroll up & down.

Really wish there was a way to create categories for apps like you could with previous Palm devices.

I use 5 pages an it works perfect for me.

1- email, calenar, music, movies, doc view, maps, etc.
    2-Launchpoint icons an internet shortcuts
3-App catalog, Preware, and associated apps
    4-All games
5-Utilities an stuff I will never use (NASCAR, Help)
  11. #11
    1. Launchpoints, RestartButton, Luna Manager
    2. Most used Apps
    3. Entertainment, GPS stuff, Where to eat stuff
    4. Office and Productivity
    5. Games
    6. System Utilities

I may try that reset to middle page patch as well. Probably use it for my Launchpoints page, and change my order a bit...

    1. Downloaded Apps. (I use these regularly)
    2. Standard Apps that I use on a regular basis.
    3. All the other Standard Apps, which I hardly ever use.
    Thought of the day :
No sense being pessimistic, it probably wouldn't work anyway
  13. #13
    1. Basic functionality - messaging, Videos, Calendar, Camera, ...
    2. Apps from App Catalog
    3. Apps from Homebrew (and Preware, Luna Manager, Dev Mode switch)
    4. Built in utils (Clock, Maps, Docview, etc.)
    5. System settings (same as last page or original)

I currently have 6 pages with the 4x4 patch and a max of 16 apps per page so no scrolling up and down is needed. I also added the wrap pages patch.

    1. preware and preware apps
    2. games
    3. general apps. camera, video, music, etc.
    4. you tube, sprint tv, NFL, map apps.
    5. web pages: facebook, news, weather, etc
    6. system apps

I like the set page patch idea. I will probably try that soon.

I have on the first page those items I use most. The second page is games, and the third is photos, music, etc. Finally the fourth page is system info and adjustments.

Funny you mention this. I was going to talk out of topic in that thread about this very thread. Only thing is... Can we create a patch to name our launcher pages?

instead of lines/mark, can we name or # them?

    5 pages...

Main (most used apps) (email, cal, memos, google maps, gdial, etc)

    Apps (facebook, weathers, etc)

Media (prepod, facebook, youtube, nflsuperfan, pandora etc)

Utilities (pdf, docview, sendmylocation, translator, etc)

Phone Settings (update, location, wifi, bluerooth etc...)
    Media

Interesting... only 30% of us (well those who responded) are using the stock 3 pages.

Since I use 6 (!) I have to check out the 'reset to middle page' patch.

Also I've been using Jason's most excellent patch to hide the Launch Bar when in the Launcher, so I'm effectively getting 4x5 icons with the 4x4 icon patch.
