I am bereft of news about a US/AT&T compatible GSM Pre. Someone please post something.

    That's all.

    Thanks,

And is that complete with 3G communications? Are you using the UK, Spanish or German Pre? QWERTY or QWERTZ?

And, if you don't mind my asking, where/how did you get the phone?

    Cheers,

Just got off the phone with ATT tech support over dropped calls on my Treo 680. He said I might want to explore a new handset . . .

I told him I was waiting for the Pre. He basically said he did not think AT&T would get the Pre.

He is the second person to give me a "stupid, stupid, stupid" lecture about how the Pre is a CDMA phone and it would not work on ATT's network. When I pointed out (both times) that the European versions of the Pre are GSM, he got snarky with me and said that I could get one and try it, but he would not recommend it.

He also denied that the AT&T president said they would get the Pre. He said they only implied it. See this link: AT&T to get Palm Pre after Sprint; new Eos ("Castle") factsheet leaked

    Here's a big ***???

@rcain--Thanks for the info. I am holding out for 3G, having the Treo 680 now I want the faster access. My wife's iPhone internet access is speedy and I'd like to get that too.

It's very weird--we keep hearing the rumors of AT&T coming out with Pixis and Pres, but these AT&T tech guys seemed pretty adamant in their denials.

For now, I am still waiting. I am not sure I can live without DateBk6 or whatever CESD's latest evolution of that application winds up being on the various platforms (Pimlical).

As much as I love Apple (been lovin's Macs since '88), I have also loved my Palms and Treos.
