Clean with fine polishing cloth and wax with NuFinsh car polish. Be carful not to put to much on especially around microphone and speaker areas. Use your finger to spread it around, dry and lighty rub with fine polishing cloth.

No more finger prints and smudges. Re wax as needed.

I assume you have not seen any reduced sensitivity to the touch screen ?

The more I think about this the more I don't like it. Fine polishing cloth is basically a very very very fine sand paper. Just don't like the idea of rubbing out micro scratches and filling with synthetic compounds.

This is only my opinion ..... this may be a fine fix.....

I know the screen's plastic is 'oil-phobic', but I'm not sure if it's just a coating that could come off, or part of the compound itself.

NuFinish is wax, not a polish, it just puts a coating on the finish.

    Alternate method:

    1. Buy an Invisible Shield.
    2. Have said invisible shield installed.
    3. Wipe Palm Pre on pants, shirt, or anything else available, as needed.
    4. Repeat step 3 as desired.

Yeah ... I have the PhantomSkinz ... but I agree this is my preferred method too. A skin on the front and a Touchstone back cover and the occasional wipe on a clean shirt/pants, and fingerprints are not an issue for me.

I have waxed mine a few times it works great but does not last long. I really works great on my Seidio USG. Just be careful around the open ports and speaker holes.

Touchstone back cover works great for me! As for the front, I just keep my hands clean and occasionally wipe the screen on my shirt.

I'm in the same geeky boat as you. After I wipe it off I inspect it thoroughly and then smile at it's organic beauty.

Me too. PhantomSkinz (and the touchstone back) and if I ever get smudges I run it across my sleeve or whatever. Also the PhantomSkinz makes it less slippery and easier to open with your thumb.

I lick the front of my phone and then rub it a few times on my shirt.

    Is that bad?

Can you buy the Touchstone back cover separately? Are there any third-party retailers online that sell something like it?
