Is it possible to install tomtom, or garmin on the pre. I currently have a touch vogue with garmin installed and my pre is coming on monday, and was hoping to install garmin on the pre if possible.

I've always wondered if something like a java based gps program would work on the pre. Eg amazegps. I've got an o2 network pre and they don't come with free sat nav like you lucky sprint owners.

Not outside of Sprint it doesn't!

Besides, the Sprint app doesn't count as it relies on a data connection which is pretty useless when touring around (precisely when you are most likely to be using a navigation app). My typical long journey (even when staying inside the UK) is only in reliable coverage about 60-70% of the time, that leaves a big gap for getting lost.

I like the fact that Sprint Pres come with navi but nothing beats having a dedicated navi unit IMO. (Sorry bout going off topic)
