I have my sim contacts, and afterwards I synced with gmail.
But now I have double contacts.
Can I hide the sim contacts?

you could link the profiles (I guess, never tried it)
if the contacts are stored safely in your gmail account there's hardly any point in keeping them on your sim though.

You could extract the PalmDatabase.db3 file, open it in SQLite Database Browser, run a query to delete all contacts where syncSource = 'simphonebook', save it, then import the file back into your Pre.

This thread will give you some background on where Im coming from:

Assuming you need the query please post in the other thread and I will work it out tomorrow when sober if nobody else has helped by that time

    Or....

    - Insert SIM into none smartphone mobile phone
    - Select phone book memory to 'SIM Card Only'
    - Either delete all contacts or move SIM contacts to phone memory
    - SIM card should be empty at this point
    - Pop SIM back in to Pre

    ....et voilą

SIM contacts to old phone memory = genius :P

Once I had all my contacts ported to Google and synced I manually deleted the SIM contacts from my Pre... took ages. Your solution is so much easier.

deleting is the best option for me i guess, but it seems i'm unable find where they are.
I'm willing to find out the query by meself :d

You don't need to run a query.
See my method above and just delete SIM contacts via an older phone.

indeed, but i like my contact to stay on my sim, just in case I need to change to an other phone( this happened a lot lately).
then i still have some of my basic contacts.

these are the queries I ran against the /var/luna/data/dbdata/PalmDatabase.db3:

delete from com_palm_pim_contact where id in (select id from com_palm_pim_contact where syncsource like '%simphonebook%')
delete from com_palm_pim_contact where syncsource like '%simphonebook%'
    delete from com_palm_pim_contactpoint where type='PHONE'

The did where gone, but after a reboot they were back:s

I'd have thought that's because the Pre pulls them straight from the SIM again. It would appear that the only solutions are those mentioned above: Linking your SIM contacts to the Google profile or simply deleting them.

    Allright, I found it!!!

First I took a clean PalmDatabase.db3 from /usr/lib/luna and copied to my pc.
Then I deleted the row from com_palm_accounts_AccountType with the domain field set to simphonebook.
Afterwards I copied the database back to the phone to /var/luna/data/dbdata/PalmDatabase.db3.

No sim entries where added after a reboot.
Next I added my google account, and all contact apeared from my gmail :d.

If i find it, It would be nice to add the feature in the contact app.
If i'm able to find out how it works, I'll make it work :d.
