I have read of folks loosing contacts when switching phones (back up from profile did not work.) My case is a little different. Yesterday my contacts and all info were intact. When I went today to look up a phone number, all contacts were gone! Just the two default Sprint contacts. I did not reset the phone, did not run the power down, did not notice any problems (though the phone could have cratered and restarted on its own without my noticing.)

Has anyone experience a loss of contacts (and calendars) without switching phones, or doing a significant reset? My mail remains, my photos remain, my Apps remain, my SMS remain.

This is terribly frustrating. This could be an issue greater than Palm not having the back up available. What if the attempt to back up the Pre data to the Palm cloud is in fact what causes dropping of the data?

Is Auto-update, the automatic update of the Pre-OS? I updated to 1.3.1 and had a reset well before the contacts disappeared.
