Default GSM Pre - Dead Pixel

Hey all,

Just received my Pre this morning... to find there's a dead pixel, just left & below centre of screen. It seems to be stuck WHITE. It really only bothered me when the Pre was booting up (i.e. black screen) but knowing its there is just as bad!

Any others out there with GSM Pre's have a dead pixel?

What did you do about it?

Seems like I'm in the minority so far!

To the person who also has one dead pixel : what did you do about it? stick with it (no pun intended) or try to swap it ?

We need to make sure everyone understand a dead pixel is always black. A stuck pixel is any other color.

If you search Google on a stuck pixel, there are a lot of ways to fix them. When I bought my new Samsung PC monitor, I had stuck pixels and I did the eraser trick and it's been fine ever since.

Play this on your youtube player...
YouTube - How To Remove A Stuck Pixel

Or search for "how to remove stuck pixel" on you tube. It's the first entry...

BE CAREFUL IF YOU HAVE ANY EPILEPSY OR ANY OTHER SIMILAR CONDITION !!!

The video will hurt your eyes but should fix it....
I had 2 stuck pixels but over time they got unstuck...

I hope this link helps

Try this site: iPhone Stuck Pixel Fix. Worth a shot. Can't hurt at the very least. Might bring back memories for older Pre owners.

Thanks chaps, will give this a go later this evening

Good to see the voting shows positive results.

Hopefully everyone knew what the difference between a stuck and dead pixel was thus ensuring accurate voting!

I voted "no" - well I've not noticed any and I'm not going to check, it would just annoy me!

Tried the above, didn't work. I just gotta hope mine becomes unstuck over time I guess...

However, my Pre has slight Oreo effect (admittedly less than 1mm) and also the feedback og the spacebar is zilch compared to the rest of the keys (it doesnt 'click' when you press it, almost like its been worn down already) so if any of these issues bug me, then the stuck pixel will contribute to me attempting to get it exhanged for another Pre.
