    Hi,

since 1.3.1 I have problems to connect my Pre to the PC. If I connect the Pre I dont get the message to select the mode, it just charges the battery.

Any ideas what the problem could be?

    Cheers,

I have the same problem but when I plug it in to USB the charging bolt appears but it isn't actually charging and I don't get the usual 3 options.

When plugged in to the computer, you can either tap the USB icon in the lower right hand corner and select to change the mode, or press Orange + Sym + U when plugged in.

The USB icon is not there. Only a flash at the battery-symbol. That is the problem. So Quickinstall is not recognizing the Pre. The shortcut I have to check later.. Thanks for the tip!

i had the same problem, also couldn't charge through touchstone, ended up being the actual charging chord, swapped out for a new one @ the sprint store and have been back in business.

    2 things you could try
i just fiddled around and found it to work again...

    first) restart computer...

    if this doesnt fix
or just too lazy to restart...

    second)
start -> run (windows bar if you have vista+) -> services.msc
look for palm novacom and right click and restart that...you should hear a USB disconnect sound... at restart, then reconnect sound...and you'll be gold

if you skipped step 1, go back to it
