...my data connection to Sprint does not work when I use the Sprint-supplied wired headset.

Specifically, when I take a call 'normally' and then decide I need to multitask...I plug in the headset (supplied by Sprint) and continue chatting...but when I aim to read email and/or surf a few webpages the phone tells me I need to connect to the internet...via Wifi. After connecting with Wifi, it all works.

Then when I end the call and unplug the headset, and disable Wifi, the EV square comes back and all is well as far as data via Sprint's network is concerned.

Has this happened to anyone else?

The data problem does not happen when I use a bluetooth headset.

If that is indeed true, you are a God among men.

However, much more likely is that you had WiFi on when you were using your bluetooth, or the application you were using did not require data in order to work.

Sprint does not support simultaneous voice + data on their network.
